Sensivize
It was a definit déja vu. There i was, sunset happening, and i went to pick my girlfriend to german classes in Goethe Institut, in Lisbon. Having arrived soon, i went for a walk in the garden in front, in Campo Mártires da Pátria.
The same spring scent, the same kind of people slowly getting ready for darkness, the same feeling of having done my bit for the day. And, to remember Cristina, from over 14 years ago, there was her perfume on some woman that went by. In that same garden, she told me she never liked children but she felt her biological clock ticking. I was only a bit more than a boy, first girlfriend, a virgin, an older girl, an air stewardess. How overwelmed i was...
But it is still the same garden, similar couples must have roamed it, started, broken up in it. Same peacocks, same ducks, same very old trees.
After a little nostalgic moment, i decided to enjoy the moment, no longer the sun burned the collours, only a few golden projections in the buildings. One could appreciate the fine specimens of old and beautiful trees, the flowers, the dogs playing, the castle of São Jorge hinting between two buildings, the palace ocuppied by the Institut and the German Embassy. So much like those many years ago...
Obviously, i wasn't carrying a camera, i could have taken fantastic pictures, i'm sure. But would i have enjoyed it as much? I don't think so, it was like living a picture in my head again, i would have lost the moment, the sounds, the scents, the feeling. In one book i recently read, they talked of "sensevizes" as a gathering of sight, sound, smell, taste and tact. A sort of an upgraded photo. That's what i lived: a sensivize. Would you be able to grasp the meaning of it? Not really, don't you think?
